Opened on Martha's Vineyard in 2009, State Road is a contemporary American tavern offering seasonally inspired food and warm hospitality.
Our menus highlight the island's bountiful seafood and local ingredients from nearby farms enhanced by herbs and vegetables from our own gardens.
The restaurant interiors were designed by Michael S. Smith. An original Nancy Lorenz adds a dramatic touch to the main dining room, which is lit by agrarian inspired chandeliers created by Billy Hoff and is warmed by an Eben Armer stone fireplace. The cozy porch features an oil painting by Alan Whiting. The bar is reminiscent of a traditional New England tavern with a leather banquette and a zinc bar. Early American antiques are found throughout the restaurant.
